How to play Bubble Island
A short guide to start shooting bubbles. Everything described here works in the browser edition.
First steps
Create an account with a username and a password; email is optional and you can play without Facebook. Then press Play to load the game.
The first load downloads quite a lot of material and may take a while; later loads are much faster because the browser keeps it.
Shooting bubbles
Move the mouse to aim the cannon and click to shoot. When three or more bubbles of the same color touch, they pop.
Bubbles left without support fall and add extra points. Chain hits to raise the multiplier and the streak.
Lives, coins and diamonds
Each game spends a life. You can hold up to 5 and one comes back every 10 minutes. You start with 10,000 coins and 400 diamonds.
Coins are earned by playing and are used to buy boosts. Diamonds are the premium currency for the things that cost more.
Boosts
Before starting a round you can bring boosts: Time Boost, Color Splash, Fireball and Plasma Boost. You start with 10 of each.
Use them wisely: on the hard levels a well-timed Fireball decides the game.
Weekly tournament
Every week there is a level of the week for everyone. Your best score of the week counts for the leaderboard, which resets on Monday at 00:00 UTC.
The social panel has a counter with the time left and three leaderboards: this week, global and your friends.
Friends and gifts
On the game page, the panel on the right lets you search for players by username and send them a request. Once they accept, you will see whether they are online.
Gift a life or coins to a friend and claim the gifts they send you in the inbox. There is a cap and a cooldown so nobody abuses it.
Chat
Pick a friend and write in the Chat tab. Messages take up to 200 characters and are shown as plain text.
Be kind: if someone bothers you, remove them from your friends or open a ticket in Support.
Your account and its security
From My account you can change your password, add an email and see the devices with an open session. Close any session you do not recognize.
If you forget your password, request a reset on the recovery page; the team will give you a code to choose a new one.
What is still missing
- This is a beta: there may be bugs and some features are missing.
- Part of the sounds and art are not available yet.
- Video ads and Facebook Credits purchases do not exist in this edition.
- It is designed for desktop; touch screens have not been tested.
